Google Maps Platform Billing Plans.
A new pay as you go pricing plan is now in effect for Google Maps API: Maps, Routes, and Places. This new plan gives you more flexibility and control over how you use the APIs: You can use as much or as little as you need and only pay for what you use each month.

Previously, billing was on a pre-paid system where customers had to know exactly which APIs they were using and also had to make estimates of the number of API calls required for their apps even before their app was created. Also there’s a minimum order value of US$10,000.
Google has now made it easier and friendlier to use Google Maps API or Google Maps Platform as it is called now. Billing is integrated together with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) which means you can also tap on to the wider GCP services such as compute, big data and machine learning.
Payment is now post-pay hence it’s exactly like any cloud usage consumption model. You only pay monthly for what you use or rather what your app consumes.
Billing will be done through Cloud Console. This will be handled by your Google Cloud Partner.
